Gift Ideas
Here are some gift ideas we've collected. Some of them are unusual, some of them are popular -- they're all things we know we'd like to be given.
Please note that we do not sell any of these items ourselves. In some cases we do make commissions if we refer a paying customer. However, these commissions do not add to the cost to you and we promise not to let the possibility of a commission take precedence over the honest opinions we give you in our descriptions.
"The Patriot" on DVD
The block-bluster Mel Gibson movie based loosely on the life of "The Swamp Fox," a Revolutionary War hero from South Carolina.
The film is terrific -- I've watched it four times. Some people have complained that it isn't 100% historically accurate, but what movie is? (Or ever could be?) "The Patriot" is inspirational and entertaining.
Peale's Portrait of Jefferson
This is the most famous portrait of Thomas Jefferson -- by Rembrandt Peale.
AllPosters.com offers a print of it mounted on wood for about $50 plus $12 shipping. You can also have it framed traditionally, or just buy the print itself. The mounted option is neat -- it comes permanently bonded to a wood backing (with a beveled black edge) that's braced on the back so that it appears to "float" on the wall.
"Don't Tread on Me" T-Shirt
I bought two of these myself. The images of the flag -- a small version on the front and a large version on the back -- look beautiful. The printing job is immaculate.
Cafepress will also print the flag on coffee mugs, mouse pads, tote bags, sweatshirts, hats, etc. Click here for the full selection. If you're interested in the flag itself check out Flagline.
